Life’s too short to argue about which car is the best. Drive whatever you like, as long as you’re happy with it.

Hybrid or EV, which one is for you?

IN the past, buying a car used to be a simple affair. However, with the advancements in technology, the car purchasing process has become rather elaborate as Malaysians need to take into account plenty of factors before signing on the dotted line.

For instance, when it comes to engines, the options available today are not limited to just pure petrol or diesel. Depending on the make, potential buyers can now opt for hybrid powertrains if efficiency is what they aim for.

Or, if buyers no longer wish to use internal combustion engines in the name of the environment, they are encouraged to make the switch to EV, which will cost from as low as RM100,000.

In other words, car buyers now have multiple factors to mull over to make sure that the car they purchase actually meets their needs. Understanding the differences between hybrid and EV should be a good start.

Definition

Essentially, all hybrid cars have two power sources – an internal combustion engine (ICE) and an electric motor powered by a battery pack.

Depending on the type of hybrid system, the ICE and electric motor can propel the wheels together or separately. This depends on the vehicle’s speed, the remaining battery charge, and other factors.

Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) have a longer electric driving range because they come with a larger motor and battery. In addition to regenerative braking, the battery can be replenished from an external source, just like an EV.

Unlike hybrid cars, electric cars do not have conventional engines and rely solely on the electric motor to move.

Most EVs have one or two electric motors, along with a large battery pack located at the bottom of the chassis. EV batteries typically support both AC and DC charging.

Advantages of hybrid

In general, hybrid powertrains work well to reduce fuel consumption, with some systems also promising better acceleration performance.

Fuel savings vary based on the hybrid system. For example, a mild-hybrid system does not offer significant fuel savings compared to a PHEV largely due to the fact that it can’t operate solely in EV mode.

Although heavier than traditional ICE cars, hybrid cars generally have enough grunt to keep things fun. They may not be as fast as EVs, but hybrid powertrains can combine the power of the engine and electric motor to provide strong acceleration.

Additionally, hybrid users do not need to worry about charging the battery because a hybrid battery does not require charging. It can be recharged using regenerative braking. This, however, does not apply to PHEVs as their batteries still need to be plugged in for a full charge.

Advantages of EV

Obviously, EVs do not use any fuel at all, making them the right choice for those looking to reduce their monthly expenses, especially with the impending petrol subsidy rationalisation.

Of course, consumers still need to factor in charging costs, but at least they have the freedom choose charging stations that offer charging rates within their budget.

Speaking of budget, EV users in Malaysia have the opportunity reduce their ownership costs as road tax for EVs is free until the end of 2025.

Performance-wise, EVs are generally faster than hybrid cars due to the electric motor’s ability to generate maximum torque as soon as the accelerator is pressed.

The absence of an ICE also makes EVs much quieter and smoother on the road, giving passengers a sense of luxury.

Which one should I choose?

At the end of the day, understand your needs before making a decision. Hybrids are suitable if you want a daily that’s super reliable and fuel-efficient. They offer a longer driving range than EVs and charging not something to fret about.

Hybrids, or more precisely, PHEVs, are a good option for those who feel like they want to transition to EVs but are not ready to do so yet. This is because PHEVs come with an electric driving mode, while users also get to familiarise themselves with charging.

Driving an EV is fun, and its acceleration can be addictive, but it also has a limited range. Therefore, choose an EV only if you have more than one car and do not live far from work.

In addition to range and the anxiety that comes with it, you also need to consider the public charging infrastructure, which is far from ready. The number of charging stations is growing but there will be times where you come across a charging point that’s unusable due to some technical issues. So, the more, the merrier.

The best way to reduce your dependence on public chargers is by installing a home charger but this is only possible if you live in a landed property.

Mercedes-AMG GT 63 Pro is Affalterbach’s newest track weapon

The lineup of the second generation Mercedes-AMG GT has been further expanded with the introduction of a new variant known as the GT 63 Pro 4Matic+.

Specifically designed for those who occasionally indulge in high-speed driving at the track, the GT 63 Pro can be distinguished by larger air intakes and carbon fibre air deflectors around the intakes.

Similar to the Mercedes-AMG One, this car also features additional air deflectors on the underbody to help accelerate the airflow in the area.

Combined with the Airpanel active air control system in the front apron and the fixed rear wing, Mercedes has managed to reduce the aerodynamic lift on the front axle by 30 kg and increase downforce on the rear axle by around 15 kg.

The car also comes with a carbon fibre package and 21-inch AMG Performance wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tyres sized 295/30 at the front and 305/30 at the rear. Customers can opt for the stickier Pilot Sport Cup 2R tyres at no additional cost.

Most of the interior is kept standard, but for the Pro, Mercedes has thrown in AMG Performance seats and an AMG Performance steering wheel wrapped in Nappa leather and Microcut microfibre.

The 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine develops 612 PS and 850 Nm in the Pro, an increase of 27 PS and 50 Nm over the non-Pro GT 63.

With the AMG Speedshift nine-speed transmission and the 4Matic+ all-wheel-drive system, it only takes 3.2 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h and can reach a maximum speed of 312 km/h.

To ensure it can perform on the track without any issues, Mercedes has added two additional radiators in the wheel arches to help cool the powertrain.

In addition, there is an active cooling system for the front and rear differentials, and revised brake cover plates to channel more air to the brakes.

Speaking of brakes, the GT 63 Pro is equipped with 420-mm brake discs on the front axle, which are currently the largest standard ceramic brake discs available from Mercedes-AMG.

Polestar Concept BST previews high-performance electric roadster

POLESTAR is among the many brands adding excitement to the Goodwood Festival of Speed with its latest lineup of vehicles.

In addition to production cars such as the Polestar 2, 3, and 4, the brand is also showcasing how far it can go when it comes to performance with the BST Concept.

The fully-electric roadster was developed based on the Polestar 6, but as you can see, it looks more far more ferocious thanks to a motorsport-inspired body kit.

The bodywork is further enhanced with a classic silver shade, muscular flared arches, extra wide track and 22-inch forged alloy wheels.

The aerodynamics are also emphasized through the vented bonnet, which is framed by an aggressive front splitter, as well as an extreme rear wing and bespoke racing-livery inspired graphics.

There are practically zero details regarding the powertrain, but rumours suggest the Concept BST could follow in the footsteps of the Polestar 6 by featuring a twin electric motor setup with 884 hp and 900 Nm.

If Polestar decides to put the BST Concept into production though, it could have significantly higher output, as seen in the Polestar 2 BST Edition 230 and 270.

The car it’s based on, the Polestar 6 will also make its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. It is built on the bespoke bonded aluminium Polestar Performance Architecture (PPA) platform, which is also used by the Polestar 5, a four-door electric sedan that will compete with Tesla, Mercedes-Benz, and BMW.

BYD to open RM4.7 billion plant in Turkiye to avoid tariffs

BYD has reportedly agreed to invest $1 billion in an assembly plant in Turkiye as part of its efforts to further expand its brand into the European region.

BYD’s Chairman Wang Chuanfu and Turkiye’s Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacir signed an investment deal in Istanbul, witnessed by President of Turkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Local media reports claim the manufacturing plant will have an annual production capacity of up to 150,000 vehicles and is expected to create around 5,000 job opportunities.

The plant is expected to commence operations by the end of 2026. However, the specific models to be assembled at the upcoming facility are currently unknown.

The deal comes hot on the heels of the European Union (EU) slapping extra provisional tariffs of up to 38% on EVs imported from China.

To make matters worse for the Chinese manufacturers, Turkiye had previously announced a 40% import tariff on all vehicles from China to protect its automotive industry.

But by establishing an assembly plant in Turkiye, BYD can now bring its cars into Europe without having to deal with the import tariffs, as Turkiye is part of EU’s Customs Union.

China is the world’s largest EV producer, and with the fierce price war in the country, Chinese EV makers have been aggressively exporting their cars overseas.

The influx of Chinese EVs has led several countries to impose high tariffs not only on EVs but also various goods from China to protect their economies.

One way to avoid these tariffs is by starting local assembly operations. BYD has started making its move in the Old Continent with the announcement of assembly plants in Hungary and Turkiye.

On top of that, the brand has recently launched an assembly plant in Rayong, Thailand, cementing its presence in the Southeast Asian region.

Subaru Project Midnight is a 670-hp tarmac-ripping beast

In 2020, Subaru introduced the Airslayer, a WRX STI-based car that figuratively set the motoring world on fire with mind-blowing stunts, including a 230-foot jump.

Now, Subaru has taken the covers off the evolution of the Airslayer known as Project Midnight. It is the fastest and quickest race car ever produced by Subaru Motorsports USA.

It is based on the current WRX but unlike the Slayer that was built to dominate Gymkhana and rallycross, Project Midnight is designed for one specific purpose: speed.

Therefore, Subaru’s first step was to reduce weight. Project Midnight utilises a carbon fiber body and a significantly lightened chassis give it a curb weight of well under 1,133 kg – nearly 136 kg lighter than the Airslayer and 453 kg lighter than the standard WRX.

For aerodynamics, the car gets ultra-wide aerodynamic bodywork and a radically enlarged version of the wing found on the team’s WRX ARA24 gravel rally car. It uses 18-inch OZ Racing Superturismo LMP wheels wrapped in sticky Yokohama Advan tyres.

Additionally, Subaru says the suspension system geometry has been retuned for better grip on the tarmac.

Under the bonnet lies a 2.0-liter turbocharged flat four-cylinder engine producing 670 hp and 921 Nm. Derived from Subaru Motorsports USA’s highly successful rallycross engine, the engine can rev up to 9,500 rpm and spits flames from its hood-exit exhaust.

Project Midnight will make its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed event taking place this month.

According to Subaru, the Project Midnight will take on new challenges and set new records with the help of Subaru Motorsports USA driver Scott Speed.

Southeast Asia’s largest public EV fast-charging hub to be built in Singapore

VOLT Singapore, the electric vehicle (EV) charging arm of Keppel’s infrastructure division, announced that it has been awarded a contract to implement and operate a public EV fast-charging hub at Jalan Papan.

The contract was awarded by Setsco Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of VICOM Ltd. Setsco will provide electrical infrastructure and facilities while Volt operate the fast-charging hub for up to 15 years.

According to Volt, it will be the largest public EV fast-charging hub in Southeast Asia. It will feature up to 80 DC charging points of 360 kW and 120 kW ratings to serve the general public, including electric buses, taxis, private hire cars, and other EVs.

The first phase, which is expected to be operational in the first half of 2026, will feature five 360 kW DC chargers that can accommodate up to 30 electric buses and EVs.

When fully operational, the facility can support concurrent charging for up to 80 electric buses, with charging time for electric cars as fast as 10 minutes.

“Volt looks forward to supporting the transition to EVs, especially for commercial fleets and electric buses to reduce emissions, promoting sustainable transportation,” said Lim Yong Wei, Executive Director of Volt.

This initiative is in line with the Singapore Green Plan 2030, supporting the nation’s electrification efforts by significantly enhancing the charging infrastructure for EVs.

From January to May this year, EVs accounted for about one in three new cars registered in the city, almost twice the figure recorded in 2023, which was 18.1%.

Free parking for EVs in cities soon?

IN an effort to promote the use of electric vehicles (EV), Housing and Local Government (KPKT) Minister Nga Kor Ming said the government is considering waiving parking fees for EVs in cities.

According to a report by The Star, Nga said that the proposal is being mulled following the recent announcement to introduce “green plates” for EVs.

He added that his ministry is in discussions with the respective local councils to consider the feasibility of the proposal.

Nga cited London as an example, where a congestion fee of about RM90 per entry is imposed on non-EV cars into the city while EVs are exempted from parking fees.

In May, Transport Minister Anthony Loke, announced a new road tax structure for EVs that is up to 85% lower than the outgoing one.

It’s really nice to own an EV in Malaysia…

It is commendable that the government is always seeking ways to accelerate and promote the use of EVs among the public but as we know, all EVs in Malaysia are being sold above the RM100,000 mark, meaning those who can actually afford them are from the upper-middle to upper class.

So why does the government feel the need to give free parking to them? As far as this writer is concerned, parking fees have never been an issue for them.

It does feel like EV owners have been given enough privileges. Not only they are exempted from paying road tax until 2026, they can now park for free whenever they enter the city.

Instead of continuously giving away more benefits to just one group of people, it would be better if the government shifts its focus to bettering public transportation services so that they can be fully utilised by the rakyat.

Mugen turns up the heat on the new Honda Freed

THERE are three certainties in life: death, taxes and Mugen developing a bodykit for pretty much every new Honda out there.

After introducing a bodykit for the Civic Type R FL5, Honda’s famed in-house tuner has now pulled the covers off an upgrade package for the newly launched Freed.

According to Mugen, the package is developed based on the concept of “Sports for Everyone” for customers who lead an active lifestyle.

Not much information is provided, but as you can see, the Mugen bodykit gives the otherwise plain MPV a sportier look.

Mugen has developed two separate packages for the Air and Crosstar variants. The former, which appears rather bare bones its standard form, now looks more aggressive with the Mugen grille, along with a pair of air vents and  splitter on the front bumper.

As for its side profile, the Freed gains a prominent black stripe, window visors, and side skirts. It also appears slightly lower than the standard version, suggesting that this package may also include lowered suspension.

At the rear, the presence of a roof-mounted spoiler, tailgate garnish, air vents, and a diffuser complete the Freed’s fresh looks.

Meanwhile, the Crosstar variant, which already looks pretty rugged thanks to SUV-like design elements, is further enhanced with black ‘MUGEN’ lettering on the hood and tailgate, camouflage stripes around the body, aftermarket alloy wheels, black side mirrors, and a rear spoiler.

As expected, Mugen’s package includes cosmetic revisions only. In its home market, the Freed is available with a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine producing 117 hp and 142 Nm, paired with a CVT transmission with the option of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

It is also offered in a hybrid e:HEV version featuring a combination of a 1.5-litre engine generating 105 hp and 127 Nm, along with an electric motor producing 121 hp and 253 Nm.

Diesel seizures drop 87 percent since subsidy rationalisation – KPDN

Since the implementation of the targeted diesel subsidy on June 10, diesel seizures have seen a decrease of 87 percent, said Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister.

Armizan said the downtrend is based on a comparison during the 20-day period before and after the implementation of the targeted diesel subsidy.

From May 20 to June 9, there were 65 cases of diesel seizures recorded, involving the seizure of 520,803 liters of diesel. However, from June 10 to June 30, statistics show that there were only 14 cases, involving 68,457 litres.

“The number of individuals arrested in the subsidised diesel cases also dropped during the same period that is from 40 people to just one person. This comparison shows a significant decrease in the number of cases,” he said.

Effective June 10, the government had set the retail price of diesel at RM3.35 per litre at all petrol stations throughout Peninsular Malaysia, while the retail price of the fuel for Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan remains at RM2.15 per litre.

However, Armizan said there was an increase in the RON95 petrol seizures with 37 cases, involving 17,064 litres of this fuel during the May 20 to June 9 period compared to 46 cases, involving the confiscation of 14,011 litres of this fuel, after the implementation of diesel subsidy targeting.

He also mentioned that the total number of arrests increased from 10 to 17 people for the same period.

To combat these activities, he said his team will continue to improve enforcement and monitoring activities on the misappropriation of controlled goods through the implementation of Ops Tiris 3.0 nationwide.

“Close cooperation with other enforcement agencies is also being held to tackle leakages comprehensively and effectively,” he added.

Singapore to ban old motorcycles completely starting July 2028

The National Environment Agency (NEA) of Singapore has announced that older foreign motorcycles will soon be disallowed on the roads in the country, while foreign commercial diesel vehicles must comply with lower smoke emissions threshold.

According to a report by Channel News Asia, the move is part of the Singaporean government’s efforts to protect air quality.

NEA stated that starting July 1, 2028, foreign-registered motorcycles registered in their home country before July 1, 2023, will be prohibited from entering Singapore.

Previously, in 2018, NEA announced a similar requirement barring oldlocal motorcycles from Singapore’s roads from July 2028.

This is because older motorcycles generally cause more pollution compared to motorcycles complying to the newer Euro emission standards.

“The requirement will now be extended to foreign-registered motorcycles,” said NEA.

“Foreign motorcyclists entering Singapore are required to use motorcycles registered on or after July 1, 2003, that also comply with Singapore’s in-use emission standards,” the agency added.

The ban on older foreign motorcycles is part of measures to limit vehicular emissions, as they contain pollutants that may affect respiratory health.

NEA also stated that starting on April 1, 2026, the threshold for turning back foreign commercial diesel vehicles entering Singapore will be tightened to 50 HSU (Hartridge Smoke Unit), which is a metric for smoke emissions from diesel vehicles.

Proton sold 73,696 cars in first six months of 2024

PROTON has announced that for the month of June 2024, it successfully sold a total of 10,999 vehicles for the domestic and export markets. This allowed the national car manufacturer to strengthen its hold of second place in the automotive sales table.

The figures for June show a slight drop from May, during which the company recorded sales of 12,522 units. Proton said in a statement that sales volume was affected by a planned one-week plant shutdown for scheduled operations improvement activities.

However, overall, the company achieved a market share figure of 19.1% for the month, the same as its year-to-date (YTD) market share figure. Total sales for the first half of 2024 closed at 73,696 units.

According to Proton, total industry volume (TIV) for June is forecast softer than any month this year. An estimated 57,700 units were sold last month, lower than April, the previous low point in 2024 during a period affected by the long festive holiday.

Cumulatively however, the forecast TIV figure for the first six months of 2024 is approximately 386,600 units, which is nearly 20,000 units more than the same time period in 2023 when it reached a new record high.

June was a busy month for Proton. Aside from launching its e.MAS EV brand, it also celebrated the roll-out of the 5 millionth vehicle from its production line and launched the 2024 Proton X50.

This resulted in an immediate improvement in sales volume with the X50 returning to the top of the B-segment SUV class with 1,711 units, its best performance in three months. With production set to increase after the improvements to the plant, sales are expected to rise in the coming months.

The other model to finish at the head of its segment was the S70 with 1,440 units sold last month. The new model has lead C-segment sedan sales every month in 2024.

The Saga raked in a further 5,441 units in June, bringing its YTD sales figure to 34,838 units. On average over 5,800 units have been sold each month, making it easily one of the best-selling vehicles in the country.

Land Rover Defender Octa is the toughest, most powerful Defender yet

The Land Rover Defender 110 lineup has now been expanded with the introduction of a new variant called the Defender Octa.

According to Land Rover, the Octa is the most powerful Defender ever produced. It is powered by a BMW-sourced 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 mild-hybrid engine, producing a healthy output of 635 PS and 750 Nm of torque.

With Dynamic Launch Mode selected, the torque figure is bumped to 800 Nm to allow the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds with the assistance of an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The strengths of the Defender Octa are not limited to sheer power alone, as the chassis is also comprehensively enhanced through what Land Rover calls a 6D Dynamics system.

Utilising hydraulically-interlinked continuously variable semi-active dampers, the system reduces pitch and body roll, and maximizes suspension articulation to enable it to tackle more extreme terrains.

Compared to other Defender variants, the Octa sits 28mm higher and has a stance widened by 68mm, for superior ground clearance and stability.

Combined with 33-inch diameter tyres, this improves approach and departure angles, and allows the Octa to wade through water up to a meter deep.

Furthermore, the new model also gets longer and stronger wishbones, 400 mm front brake discs with Brembo calipers, and the fastest steering ratio of any Defender to date, for immediate, precise, responses.

In addition to the Comfort and Dynamic modes, the Defender Octa comes with an Octa driving mode specifically tuned for high-speed off-road driving.

Of course, the Terrain Response system with Sand, Mud and Ruts, Grass, Gravel, Snow, and Rock Crawl modes is included, along with ClearSight Ground View.

The exterior appearance of the Defender Octa can be distinguished through off-road-optimised bumpers, a unique grille for increased under-bonnet airflow, extended wheel arches, and a four-exit active exhaust system.

It also comes with underbody protection including an aluminium alloy front under shield with graphite finish and exposed Phosphor Bronze-finished front and rear recovery points.

The interior features Performance seats with integrated Body and Soul audio technology that enables the driver and front passenger to feel, as well as hear, the music.

Order books for the Defender Octa will open soon, with prices starting from £145,300 (RM869k) in the United Kingdom.

As for Malaysia, Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia says registration of interest for the Defender Octa is now open at
https://www.landrover.com.my/defender/defender-octa/overview. Customers can also reach out to Jaguar Land Rover sales advisors at Land Rover Malaysia, Ara Damansara at 03-76512000.

JPJ cracks down on tour buses, three drivers detained for having no license, failing drug test

In a major crackdown on tour and express buses carried out by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) today, two drivers were found to have no driving licenses while one was found positive for marijuana.

According to the Director of JPJ Enforcement, Muhammad Kifli Ma Hassan, they inspected a total of 22 tour buses in the operation that began at 6 am.

As of 9 am this morning, Kifli said they had detained two tour bus drivers for driving without a driving and a public service vehicle (PSV) license.

“These offences should not have occurred if the companies and drivers were responsible,” he said, adding that the department will impound the buses until the companies replace their drivers.

The integrated operation was conducted in collaboration with the police, the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK), and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MoTAC).

AADK also conducted urine tests on all 22 drivers, with one of them testing positive for drugs.

“The driver in his 30s was found positive for marijuana and further action will be taken,” he said.

Kifli said that they also found a Thai van that did not have an International Circulation Permit (ICP), while MoTAC identified three tour buses without tour guides.

Government to issue RFP to reduce cost of MLFF project

Deputy Works Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said the government is considering issuing a request for proposal (RFP) as an alternative approach for the RM3.46 billion Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) project, reports The Edge.

Ahmad Maslan explained that the moves aims to reduce the project’s costs, adding that the ministry had already announced its intention to issue the RFP.

“We have announced that we will issue an RFP as a ‘Plan B’. At the same time, we are giving until December for the companies involved in the MLFF proposal project,” he said.

He made the remarks in response to a supplementary question from Roslan Hashim (Perikatan Nasional-Kulim Bandar Baru) who wanted to know the current status of the MLFF project.

The MLFF is a barrier-free system designed to replace the existing booth-based toll collection system. It utilises gantries equipped with radio-frequency identification (RFID) devices along with an automated number plate recognition (ANPR) system for toll collection.

The proposed MLFF system is estimated to cost RM3.46 billion for 33 highways in Malaysia.

Last year, 32 highway toll concessionaires opposed the government’s move to appoint a YTL Holdings-related company to implement a barrier-free system a toll plazas due to the private entity’s lack of track record.

The concessionaires are concerned that allowing a third party to take over toll collection might result in leakages.

In February this year, FMT reported that senior executives from the Berjaya Group had been meeting with representatives of the 32 concessionaires to explain what they have in mind and to get their feedback before submitting its final proposal to the works ministry.

Last week, Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi stated that negotiations for the MLFF system are ongoing, with several stages yet to be finalised before a decision is reached.

Koenigsegg Jesko breaks four speed records in a single run, 0-400-0 km/h in 28.81 secs!

Last year, Koenigsegg Regera set a speed record for the 0-400-0 km/h sprint in 28.81 seconds at an airfield in Örebro, Sweden.

Just a few days ago, at the same location, the record was successfully broken by another Koenigsegg megacar, the Jesko, with a time of 27.83 seconds.

What’s even more impressive, the Jesko also broke three more world records in the same run where it reached 412 km/h: the 0-400 km/h sprint in 18.82 seconds, the 0-250-0 mph sprint in 28.27 seconds, and the 0-250 mph sprint in 19.20 seconds.

According to Koenigsegg, the car was driven by its test driver, Markus Lundh. The exact model used for the attempt was the Jesko Absolut, which is designed specifically for straight-line speed.

It has a smaller frontal area, limited and targeted venting for the release of high-pressure air, and no active aero, all intended to minimise drag.

The car used was in standard form, running on E85 fuel and standard Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 R tyres. The only modifications made to the car were the addition of a roll cage and a One:1 driver seat, at the request of Lundh.

Needless to say, the Jesko is among the most potent cars ever produced. Powering it is a 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine producing 1,600 horsepower and 1,500 Nm of torque when using E85 fuel.

The earth-shattering outputs are transmitted to the rear wheels through a nine-speed gearbox called the Light Speed Transmission (LST). It is also one of the most aerodynamic cars in its class, with a drag coefficient of Cd 0.278.
