Most modern cars equipped with Level 2 driver assistance systems already have automatic parking assist functions.
However, Chinese car manufacturer IM Motors has showcased a new technology that makes parking much easier.
A video uploaded to social media shows a woman getting out of the car with a bouquet of flowers at a parking spot.
After the driver’s side door is closed, the car maneuvers into the side parking spot.
The crab-like movement is achieved with an all-wheel steering system, where the front and rear wheels turn in different directions, along with precise control of the electric motor’s power to rotate the wheels in opposite directions.
This system also enables IM Motors’ cars to make U-turns with a radius as small as 4.99 meters.
The sedan, fully wrapped in camouflage decals, resembles the midsize sedan model IM L6, which was released in the Chinese market this year.
There is no information available regarding IM Motors’ plans to offer this parking solution to other models in the future.
The high-performance SUV genre is no longer an anomaly, considering many manufacturers are racing to produce their own unique products.
Not limited to producers such as Audi RS, Mercedes-AMG, and BMW M, there are also quick SUVs from premium automotive brands like Aston Martin, Bentley, and Lotus.
But what about Toyota?
For your information, Toyota still does not have a lineup of high-performance SUVs, but the manufacturer is said to be planning to produce a Gazoo Racing model in the near future.
During a visit to China to meet with Century SUV owners, Toyota Chairman Akio Toyoda disclosed plans to produce the Century SUV GRMN model so that “more people from around the world can enjoy the model.”
Built on the TNGA-K platform, the Century SUV is equipped with a V6 3.5-liter plug-in hybrid engine producing up to 406 hp.
At the launch of the Century SUV model, Toyota also unveiled a special build Century SUV GRMN model with a more sporty appearance and a sliding rear door design.
For this Gazoo Racing Meister of Nurburgring variant of the Century SUV model, we can expect significantly higher spec upgrades compared to the standard GR Sport and GR models (GR Yaris, GR Corolla, GR Supra).
The Century SUV GRMN model is owned by Akio Toyoda, who also has a Century GRMN sedan with a much more radical appearance than standard Century sedans out there.
PROTON says it has expanded its geographical reach in the Caribbean by partnering with ANSA Motors Limited in Trinidad and Tobago since March this year.
Year-to-date, the national carmaker has shipped 261 units to the country in 2024, achieving 101% of its target volume and bringing the total number of Proton vehicles shipped there to 366 units since CY2023.
To recap, Proton launched the X90 and X50 in the dual-island Caribbean nation on 13 March this year. As local demand grew, ANSA Motors decided to up its ante with an increased target to sell 300 units in 2024.
ANSA Motors has a century’s worth of experience in the automotive industry, and was picked by Proton on the back of an impressive record and strong automotive background.
Despite its population of merely 1.5 million, Trinidad and Tobago’s automotive industry mirrors that of more developed countries, with car buyers increasingly gravitating towards the new “bells and whistles” such as hybrids and electric vehicles (EVs).
As there is more wealth creation in that part of the world, luxury vehicles are growing more desirable and the emergence of new and exciting brands such as Proton is finding unprecedented acceptance.
The ANSA McAL Group of Companies is one of Trinidad and Tobago’s largest conglomerates, with over 25 subsidiaries across the Caribbean.
Founded in 1919, its subsidiary ANSA Motors has been a pioneering force in the automotive industry, introducing leading global automotive brands to the country.
Notably, the century-old dealer was the first Ford dealer in the Caribbean and has played a pivotal role in transforming the automobile industry over decades, making it a subject of study in local schools today.
“The technology and pricing of Proton vehicles are a strength we hope to exploit so we are very enthusiastic about the future. We needed a value for money brand for segments we had no presence in, and the Proton brand certainly filled those spots,” said Jerome Borde, Head of Regional Business, ANSA Motors.
Since launch, Proton has exported 6,501 X series vehicles to 18 other countries, including Trinidad and Tobago, Brunei, Egypt, Nepal, and Ghana, paving the way for future expansion into more export markets.

The idea of sports cars transformed into off-road or rally versions is not a new one. The Porsche 959 was modified for the Paris-Dakar rally in the 1980s, while the Datsun 240Z competed in the East African Safari Rally in 1973.
However, recent years have seen an increase in the production of sports cars offering off-road and rally editions. Who wouldn’t love them? They look cool, fast, and are not afraid to conquer rough terrains. Here, we list eight options of sports car models in off-road versions available today:
1. Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato
The emergence of the Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato is rather unbelievable. With its sharp and aggressive supercar appearance, it wasn’t easy to transform it into a rugged off-road style. However, Lamborghini successfully infused the Huracan with off-road aesthetics that complement its nature.
It sits 44mm higher than the standard model, equipped with special run-flat tires from Bridgestone. The car still runs on a 5.2-liter naturally-aspirated V10 engine producing 610PS, but with Rally modifications that enhance its AWD setup and suspension system.
2. Porsche 911 Dakar
The Porsche 911 has been one of the most popular models to be converted into off-road or rally versions. The 911 Dakar is an official model from Porsche, paying tribute to the original 911 that triumphed in the Paris-Dakar rally in 1984 and 1986.
Compared to the standard model, the 911 Dakar sits 50mm higher, powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine from the GTS variant delivering 480PS, and outfitted with special Pirelli Scorpion tires. Only 2,500 units will be produced.
3. Nissan Safari Rally Z Tribute
The Safari Rally Z Tribute is not just for the SEMA showcase; it is a modern variation of the Datsun 240Z that won the 1971 Safari Rally. Based on the new Nissan 400Z, the Safari Rally Tribute version features KW suspension with an additional 2 inches, spotlights, and under-chassis protection plates.
Inside, it boasts a roll cage, Recaro seats, 4-point harness, and even a paper map. Undoubtedly cool. Hopefully, Nissan will release a version for the public to purchase.
4. Morgan Plus Four CX-T
Did you ever think Morgan would venture into the off-road scene? Interestingly, Morgan has been a popular choice for time attack and hill-climb competitions. The CX-T version utilizes the Plus Four model and is tuned by Rally Raid UK experts, showcasing rally springs, shock absorbers, a roll cage, fog lights, and various other accessories.
5. Singer ACS
The 911 Dakar and Huracan Sterrato are undeniably cool, but they pale in comparison to the Singer ACS or the full name: All-Terrain Competition Study.
A collaboration between Singer and 911 expert Richard Tuthil, it may seem like a modest 450PS in power, but ordering this model allows for power enhancements. This might just be our favorite off-road version of a sports car.
It’s worth setting the car’s image as your phone wallpaper.
6. Lancia Stratos
When asked which off-road sports car is the most original, the answer must be the Lancia Stratos. Designed with a very short wheelbase, not to look cool, but for rallying purposes. This design provides the Stratos with agile handling and a tendency towards oversteer, which rally enthusiasts go crazy for.
Only 492 Stratos were ever built, making it rarer than the Lamborghini Miura. It also achieved victory in the World Rally Championship from 1974 to 1976, solidifying its legendary status.
7. Ariel Nomad
Britain seems to have two ideas for high-performance off-road vehicles. One is the Range Rover V8, while the other is the Ariel Nomad, a blend of the Ariel Atom, dune buggy, Tamiya RC car, and fairground ride. It is powered by a Honda 2.4-liter engine delivering power to the rear wheels.
With an open cabin devoid of a roof and doors, the Nomad promises genuine fun on off-road trails.
8. RUF Rodeo
Given the popularity of the 911 in off-road settings, it seems RUF also wants to showcase their take on it. With higher suspension, off-road tires, a upgraded flat-six engine, and luxurious leather accents in the cabin, enter the RUF Rodeo.
The tuned turbocharged engine generates 610hp, transmitting power to all wheels through a 6-speed manual gearbox. The Rodeo is also equipped with double-wishbone suspension with pushrod shock absorbers at the front and rear, along with 6-piston brakes at the front and 4-piston brakes at the rear.
The road law is established to ensure the safety and comfort of driving. Many are unaware that when driving on the road, you actually carry a significant responsibility along with other road users.
A small mistake or negligence can not only cause damage to the vehicle but, even worse, can lead to injury and death. Therefore, laws are designed to reduce these risks.
Most laws are almost similar, such as speed limits and driving bans under the influence of alcohol. But there are also some peculiar laws. Let’s take a look, have you ever known them all?
In California, if there are five or more vehicles lined up behind, you must stop or give way. We agree with this law because some drivers in Malaysia tend to drive leisurely or look for rental housing on the highway.
In California, there is a speed limit for autonomous vehicles without passengers, which is 60 miles per hour (96 km/h). Even without a driver, these autonomous cars are allowed to travel at that speed.
In California, you are allowed to shoot whales from inside your vehicle. Yes, it’s not prohibited. Why? We have no idea.
In the U.S., the state of Hawaii has the lowest highway speed limit at 60 miles per hour (96 km/h). The state with the highest highway speed limit is Texas, at 85 miles per hour (136 km/h).
Finland imposes speeding fines based on the offender’s income. In fact, a wealthy entrepreneur was fined USD 130,000.
In Germany, to obtain a driver’s license, you not only need to pass the driving test but also have knowledge of car mechanics. That’s why Germany is the most expensive country in the world to obtain a driver’s license.
Australia has anti-hooning laws, which prohibit illegal racing, performing burnouts, and playing loud music. You can be fined over AUD 5,000 if found guilty.
If you get a DUI (driving under the influence of drugs) in Thailand, you can be sentenced to work in a morgue. You have to bring and clean the corpses to experience the suffering of the victims.
What do you think about all these laws? Are any of them suitable to be applied in Malaysia?
Skoda UK has unveiled a distinctly unique and capable green-themed station wagon that could outshine any sports car out there.
Dubbed the Skoda Superb Sleeper Edition, it’s a wagon that has been tuned to have performance equal to a supercar.
The project was overseen by RE Performance, where the original 2.0-liter turbo engine has been upgraded with several components. For instance, a Garrett Powermax turbo unit, a larger intercooler, fuel system, and exhaust piping system have been replaced with specially built components.
As a result, the original 270 hp/350 Nm has been elevated to 470 hp and 662 Nm.
To accommodate these performance enhancements, RE Performance has also installed KW coilover suspension (lowered by 50 mm) and AP Racing brake system.
Apart from the Royal Green color, the original appearance of the Skoda Superb Estate has not changed much, and it still retains the factory standard exhaust tailpipe.
The cabin features also remain in line with the highest trim specifications of Laurin & Klement, with leather upholstery, automatic three-zone air conditioning, and a Canton sound system.
The Skoda Superb Estate Sleeper Edition is a one-off build and will not be sold to the public.

Many people have noted that the recently launched Jaecoo J7 in Malaysia last month bears a resemblance in design to the premium SUV model, Range Rover Evoque.
So, what do you think of the appearance of another Chery-made SUV featured in this article?
The SUV in question is the Chery Tiggo 7 Sport, and according to media reports from Mainland China, this model has already arrived in several showrooms ahead of its official launch scheduled for September.
From the front view, the Chery Tiggo 7 Sport presents a design inspired by the British off-road SUV, particularly in the grille, air intake openings, and the presence of a skid plate.
It is understood that the daytime running light unit also resembles the structure found on the Range Rover Evoque.
Chery Tansuo 06
Jaecoo J7
In addition, the Chery Tiggo 7 Sport features design elements that are nearly similar to the Jaecoo J7/Chery Tansuo 06 model, such as concealed door handles, roof rails, and storage box accessories between the C and D pillars.
The layout of the cabin has not changed much, where the Tiggo 7 Sport also showcases a large infotainment screen, a floating instrument panel, large gear shift buttons in the middle, and two-tone leather upholstery.

RESTOMOD has become a popular modification approach in recent times among premium sports car enthusiasts. The latest to undergo a restomod transformation is the Ferrari 550 Maranello by Touring Superleggera, showcased at the Monterey Car Week.
It can be said that the modification has resulted in a vehicle that is both beautiful and modern while retaining the original characteristics of the Ferrari 550.
Named Veloce12, the original car had all its components stripped down to its bare bones, with the chassis reinforced and the body redesigned.
The original 5.5-liter V12 naturally-aspirated engine was also retuned to produce 503hp and 568Nm of torque, an increase of 25hp from the original 550 model. Particularly noteworthy is its pairing with a 6-speed manual transmission.
With this upgrade, the Veloce12 only needs 4.4 seconds to reach 100 km/h, with a top speed of 320 km/h. It is equipped with high-performance Brembo brakes, 380mm brake discs with six pistons at the front and four pistons at the rear, and an adjustable suspension system from TracTive.
The interior cabin features luxurious handcrafted leather upholstery, while buttons and knobs are machined. There is no touchscreen display visible.
Touring stated that all materials are sourced from Italy, and given that the Veloce12 is a grand tourer, it also comes with custom-designed seats tailored for long-distance comfort.
As expected, such a unique restomod vehicle comes with a hefty price tag. Touring mentioned that prices start at USD758,000 (RM3.3 million), excluding the cost of the original Ferrari 550. Only 30 units are planned for production, with the first units expected to roll out in early 2025.
Koenigsegg has successfully broken the latest record for the fastest lap at the Laguna Seca circuit using the Jesko Attack.
The hypercar circuited the Laguna Seca Raceway with a time of 1:24.86, consequently surpassing the previous record holder, the Czinger 21C (1:25.44).
This is an impressive achievement considering that Koenigsegg test driver Markus Lundh had never set foot on the famous track before.
In fact, this was also the first time the performance of the Jesko was tested at the Laguna Seca circuit.
The Koenigsegg Jesko is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine capable of producing a staggering 1,600 hp using E85 fuel.
In comparison to the Absolute variant, which prioritizes top speed, the Attack variant used in this lap record has a more aggressive aerodynamic package, along with specific suspension tuning and shorter gear ratios.
For comparison, several high-performance production cars also recorded their fastest lap times at the track, including the McLaren 765LT (1:27.50), McLaren Senna (1:27.62), and Porsche Taycan Turbo GT (1:27.87)
Two years ago, McLaren Kuala Lumpur introduced the Artura, the first hybrid supercar from the British sports brand. Today, the model receives a convertible version, the Artura Spider. This new model comes with enhancements involving powertrain, chassis, and aerodynamics aspects, which will also be provided to the coupe version for the 2025 model year.
Firstly, McLaren has redesigned the 3.0-liter V6 hybrid engine to increase power from the previous 680hp to 700hp. Torque remains at 720Nm but with electronic mapping adjustments, it is delivered to the wheels more efficiently. The engine receives assistance from an electric motor placed inside the gearbox. This motor generates 95hp and 225Nm, paired with a 7.4kWh battery providing an electric range of up to 33km.
With recalibrated 8-speed transmission, the Artura Spider can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 3.0 seconds and 0 to 200km/h in 8.4 seconds. Despite being a convertible, it can reach a top speed of 330km/h. McLaren adds that the car also features a new, stiffer engine mount to control powertrain movement, enhancing stability, steering response, and overall vehicle agility.
The Artura Spider uses a hardtop roof that can be opened and closed in 11 seconds with the help of eight electric motors. Despite this, it weighs 1,560kg, only 62kg heavier than the Artura Coupe. To ensure drivers fully enjoy the engine sound when the roof is down, McLaren includes a new exhaust system with retuned resonators and cone-shaped tailpipes.
If that’s not potent enough, customers can also opt for a sport exhaust system offering a clearer tone by directing sound waves from the exhaust into the cabin. Ride and handling are improved by enhancing the Proactive Damping Control system’s response rate by 90 percent, making it more responsive to driver inputs and road surfaces.
For brakes, the Artura Spider features 390mm ceramic carbon discs at the front, 380mm at the rear, each paired with six and four-piston aluminum monobloc calipers. The McLaren Artura Spider can be yours with prices starting from RM3.4 million including duties, before options.
Say hello to the Lamborghini Temerario, the successor to the Lamborghini Huracan which was previously powered by a V10 engine.
Externally, the Temerario appears to be a fusion of design elements from the Revuelto and Huracan models.
The front headlights appear slimmer compared to the Huracan, while the rear is adorned with hexagon-shaped LED structures.
As standard, the Temerario comes fitted with 20 and 21-inch rims, accompanied by aerodynamic features that can increase downforce by 103 percent compared to the Huracan Evo.
Lamborghini also offers the Allegerita package, including a rear wing, unique bumper, and carbon fiber rims resulting in significant weight savings of up to 25 kg and an additional 158 percent increase in downforce.
There is also the Carbon Pack which further reduces weight by 1.81 kg through the use of carbon components such as the rear diffuser, side mirror housings, and side air intakes.
For this High Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV) model, Lamborghini has introduced a completely new powertrain unit.
The 4.0-liter V8 engine with a 90-degree angle features a Hot V configuration, a flat-plane crankshaft, and two turbochargers with a maximum pressure of 36 psi.
It also sports aluminum alloy cylinder heads and titanium connecting rods for weight reduction.
With a redline reaching up to 10,000 rpm, the engine is paired with three axial-flux electric motors with a combined power output of 920 hp cooled by oil.
Acceleration from 0-100 km/h is achieved in just 2.7 seconds before reaching a top speed of 340 km/h.
A single electric motor producing 150 hp/300 Nm is sandwiched between the engine and the twin-clutch gearbox, while two additional motors are positioned on the front axle, each generating 82 hp.
The 3.8 kWh battery pack can be charged for 30 minutes using a 7 kW AC charger, or via regenerative braking, or directly using the V8 engine power for about six minutes.
Interestingly, the Lamborghini Temerario can be driven in electric mode utilizing the two front axle electric motors, although the range of this supercar in zero-emission mode has not been disclosed.
The Temerario chassis is fully constructed using aluminum to maintain minimum weight levels, with a 20 percent increase in torsional rigidity.
The cabin space features a cockpit-like design enhanced with hexagonal design elements, including an 8.4-inch central screen, a 12.3-inch digital cluster screen, and an additional 9.1-inch screen for passengers.
Headroom is said to be larger than the Huracan model, followed by legroom, with Lamborghini claiming that a 198 cm tall NBA basketball player could wear a helmet while sitting in the Temerario cabin.
The Sepang International Circuit, or SIC, is one of our nation’s proudest landmarks. It was completed in 1998 before hosting the first Formula One (F1) race in 1999.
Although it no longer hosts F1 events, the Sepang Circuit remains on the MotoGP calendar and is active with various motor activities, track days, and corporate events.
Recently, discussions about the return of the F1 to Sepang have been circulating on social media, with some claiming that F1 drivers are eager to race in Malaysia once again.
Let’s now explore seven facts about this world-class circuit that you may not be aware of.
1. Designed by Hermann Tilke
The Sepang International Circuit was designed by the German architect Hermann Tilke, who previously designed the A1-Ring circuit in Austria. Tilke created a circuit that is undulating and fast for Sepang, dominated by two main straightaways.
The design of Sepang draws inspiration from local elements, for example, the grandstand canopies are shaped like the leaves of oil palm trees, which are a prominent crop in the area surrounding the circuit.
Construction work began in December 1996, and the circuit was completed in 1998 at a cost of RM286 million.
2. Became one of the longest F1 circuits
The Sepang Circuit features 15 turns and 8 straight stretches with a minimum width of 16 meters, expanding to 20 meters in some sections. The completed Sepang International Circuit has a length of 5,543 meters (one lap), making it one of the longest circuits on the F1 and MotoGP calendars. The only longer circuits are Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium and Silverstone in England.
When it was completed and opened to the public, the Sepang Circuit was the most advanced F1 circuit in the world. However, since then, many newer and more advanced circuits have emerged worldwide, with most of them being designed by Tilke.
3. The only Japan Super GT venue outside Japan
In addition to world-class racing events like F1 and MotoGP, the Sepang International Circuit is also included in the calendar of other prestigious races, including the Japan Super GT.
Interestingly, the Sepang Circuit is the only circuit outside Japan to host a round of the Japan Super GT. This makes Sepang very unique for this event due to its extreme hot and rainy weather conditions.
4. Extreme weather
Speaking of the weather, the ambient temperature at the Sepang Circuit can reach up to 60 degrees Celsius, a challenging temperature for both the vehicles and the drivers.
Later, after the scorching heat in the midday, heavy rain can fall in the afternoon. This weather challenge is one of the unique features of Sepang that is not found in other circuits, meaning that racing teams need to strategically plan pit stops and tire changes.
Additionally, the F1 race in 2009 was once stopped due to extremely heavy and dangerous driving conditions caused by rain.
5. Malaysian F1 drivers
The Sepang Circuit has seen two Malaysian drivers who have driven in F1. They are Alex Yoong and Fairuz Fauzy.
Alex Yoong drove for the Minardi team in 2002, achieving a best finishing position of seventh place during the Australian Grand Prix.
Fairuz Fauzy is also among the elite group who have driven F1 cars, but as a test driver for the Lotus team in 2010.
6. Proton Satria GTI before the GP cars
Although the Sepang Circuit is renowned for hosting F1 races and other world-class sports events, we should be proud because a Proton car actually “inaugurated” the circuit a few days before the first Malaysian Grand Prix in 1999.
The car in question was the Proton Satria GTI, driven by Tiff Needell, a motoring media host and former professional racer. He also competed in Malaysia, but at the Batu Tiga Circuit in Shah Alam in the 1980s.
7. Tragedy of Marco Simoncelli
As everyone knows, motorsport is a high-risk sport, despite always prioritizing high safety standards. The Sepang International Circuit once claimed the life of a MotoGP rider, Marco Simoncelli. In an incident on October 23, 2011, the Italian rider fell during the sixth lap and was subsequently hit by another rider.
