Michelin Primacy 5 now available in Malaysia – 25 sizes, from RM477

Michelin Malaysia has recently launched the Michelin Primacy 5 tyre, designed for passenger vehicles and crossovers, whether powered by internal combustion engines (ICE) or electric motors.
Replacing the previous model, the Primacy 4, the new tyre promises enhanced performance along with reduced environmental impact.
Here are some of the benefits of the Michelin Primacy 5:
-
A new tread pattern featuring Michelin’s Silent Rib Gen-3 technology significantly reduces vibration and noise to provide a smoother, quieter, and more comfortable driving experience.
-
24% greater mileage compared to other premium brands, achieved through a 10% increase in void ratio compared to its predecessor.
-
Optimised lateral groove edges contributes to the longer lasting wet performance.
-
These features are combined with MaxTouch technology, which maximises contact with the road and evenly distributes the forces of acceleration, braking, and cornering.
-
The braking distance is 8% shorter when new and 13% shorter when worn compared to other premium brands, thanks to Functional Elastomers 3.0 featuring Michelin EverGrip and Michelin EverTread Technologies that optimise water evacuation.
-
Compatible with EVs, due to the use of a high-performance tread rubber compound that reduces the tyre’s rolling resistance by 13% to improve energy consumption.
In addition to offering improvements in performance, safety, and comfort, the Michelin Primacy 5 tyre is also more environmentally friendly. Rolling resistance is improved by 5%, while its longevity is by 18%, allowing the tyre to be used until the legal tread depth. By design, its environmental footprint has been decreased by 6%.
In Malaysia, the Michelin Primacy 5 is available through the authorised Michelin dealer network. It is offered in 25 sizes (ranging from 16 to 19 inches), with prices starting from RM477 to RM1,026. All tyres sized 18 inches and above feature aesthetic sidewalls with full-ring velvet line.
