You can now convert your ‘P’ licence to CDL via MyJPJ app

The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has announced that effective today (February 7), motorists can convert their probationary driving licence (PDL) to the competent driving licence (CDL) via the MyJPJ app.

According to the Director General of Road Transport, Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli, the introduction of this new feature aims to facilitate applications for a CDL online without the need to visit a JPJ counter.

With the new function, 2,383,043 PDL holders can submit their CDL applications via the MyJPJ app at any time and from anywhere using their smartphones.

Here’s how to apply for a CDL through the MyJPJ application:

  1. Download or update the MyJPJ application to the latest version.
  2. Log in to your MyJPJ account.
  3. Select the “CDL Application” menu.
  4. Choose “Renewal Period.”
  5. Select “Payment Method” and pay the application fee online.
  6. Your application will be processed, and you will receive a notification regarding the status of your application.

“JPJ Malaysia hopes that this initiative will facilitate the digital ownership of the Malaysian Driving Licence (LMM) without lengthy procedures, thus becoming part of JPJ’s efforts to reduce counter congestion.

“JPJ is always committed to enhancing the quality and standards of service delivery for the public,” he said.
