Bentley Continental GT Speed officially launched in Malaysia, priced from RM3.12 million

Bentley Kuala Lumpur recently celebrated the arrival of the most powerful grand tourer (GT) model ever produced, the Bentley Continental GT Speed.

This fourth generation Continental GT Speed is powered by a V8 plug-in hybrid (PHEV) ‘Ultra Performance Hybrid’ engine that delivers a total power of 782 PS and torque of 1,000 Nm.

The twin-turbo V8 engine itself is capable of producing 600 PS and 800 Nm, paired with an electric motor generating 190 PS/450 Nm, which is integrated into the transmission housing to reduce turbo lag.

Overall, this PHEV setup provides a 19 percent increase in power and an 11 percent higher torque compared to the W12 engine-equipped Continental GT Speed.

There is no need for cylinder deactivation anymore, as the hybrid system in the Continental GT Speed can completely stop the engine’s operation when the electric motor is running.

The power is transmitted to the wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, assisted by an electronically controlled limited-slip differential (eLSD).

Consequently, the acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in just 3.2 seconds before reaching a top speed of 335 km/h.

The 25.9 kWh battery pack allows this GT to be driven in zero-emission mode for up to 80 km at speeds of up to 140 km/h.

The Continental GT Speed also comes equipped with an active all-wheel drive system, all-wheel steering, torque vectoring, Bentley Dynamic Ride, and new generation ESC control software.

To ensure this GT machine stops excellently, Bentley has fitted a braking system consisting of a 10-piston caliper and 420 mm rotors at the front, followed by a four-piston caliper and 380 mm rotors at the rear.

There is also an option to equip a carbon-silicon-carbide braking system with 440 mm rotors at the front and 410 mm at the rear.

This fourth generation Bentley Continental GT is the first Bentley model to feature a single headlight setup, replacing the previous dual round light configuration.

The LED matrix headlight unit features 120 individual LEDs that can be digitally controlled to maximize lighting.

Meanwhile, the rear lights have a three-dimensional diamond pattern that creates a molten lava effect when lit.

All four wheel arch corners are adorned with newly designed 22-inch rims inspired by tigers.

The cockpit of the Bentley Continental GT Speed provides seats that can be adjusted in 20 ways, ensuring great comfort for long journeys, a cluster of function buttons for HVAC on the center console, and the presence of an analog clock at the center of the air conditioning vents.

For the driver, a digital cluster screen is provided, while the center features the Bentley Rotating Display that offers three different sides: a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, three analog dials, or a blank panel if you prefer an uninterrupted driving experience.

Three audio system options are offered for the Continental GT:

  • Standard 650W with 10 speakers
  • Bang & Olufsen 1,500W with 16 speakers and illuminated grilles
  • Naim 2,200W, 18 speakers, Active Bass Transducers, and up to eight modes available for audiophiles

Cabin comfort is enhanced by laminated acoustic glass, which offers up to 9 dB quieter performance compared to non-acoustic glass.

This Bentley GT is also equipped with support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, over-the-air (OTA) updates, ambient lighting systems, and Intelligent Park Assist features.

For the Malaysian market, the Bentley Continental GT Speed is priced from RM3,120,000 excluding insurance, road tax, and registration, as well as personal customization options.

2025 Bentley Flying Spur Speed, now with a more powerful PHEV V8 engine!

This is the fourth generation of the luxurious sedan Bentley Flying Spur Speed 2025, with a design that closely resembles the third-generation sedan.

There haven’t been many significant changes made to the exterior, except for the grille design, new 22-inch alloy rims, and the redesigned bumper openings.

Even the changes brought to the cabin space are more minimal in nature, except for the “Precision Diamond” pattern brought to the seating and door panels.

The major changes actually come in the engine space, where the discontinued W12 heartbeat has been replaced with the Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain unit.

The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine can produce 592 hp, coupled with an 187 hp electric motor.

Overall, the Bentley Flying Spur 2025 can generate 771 hp and 1,000 Nm, allowing it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds.

The 25.9 kWh battery pack offers an emission-free driving range of up to 76 km.

In EV driving mode, the Flying Spur 2025 can operate with 187 hp/450 Nm power output, with a speed limit of 140 km/h.

With the combination of the battery and a full fuel tank, the Flying Spur Speed can travel up to 829 km.

As standard, Bentley equips the Flying Spur Speed model with various modern chassis technologies, including Bentley Performance Active Chassis, all-wheel steering, Bentley Dynamic Ride suspension, active torque vectoring, and limited-slip differential electronic control.

To ensure that no two Bentley Flying Spurs have the same finishing specifications, Bentley offers up to 10 billion customization options available, not including bespoke options from the Mulliner division.

For the exterior alone, there are over 101 color options, followed by 700 combinations of leather upholstery colors, eight wood veneer finishes, and three technical finishes for the cabin space.

Bentley offers a 650-watt audio system with 10 speakers as a standard feature, but buyers can upgrade to the 1,500-watt Bang & Olufsen system with 16 speakers or the 2,200-watt system with 19 speakers and Active Bass Transducers integrated into the front seats.

Not only that, the Flying Spur is also equipped with laminated glass on the front and side mirrors to make the cabin 9dB quieter.

Lastly, there is the option of the Wellness Seating Specification available for all four seats to ensure that every passenger remains comfortable at all times.

Bentley Mulliner now available for the first time in Malaysia – Continental GT, Bentayga EWB and Flying Spur

Bentley bids cheerio to W12 engine, more than 100,000 units built since 2003

BENTLEY has constructed its last W12 engine, signalling the end of the era of the 12-cylinder engine that has been the beating heart of the Bentayga, Continental GT, and Flying Spur.

According to Bentley, over 100,000 units of the W12 engine have been hand-built at its Dream Factory in Crewe, England since it was introduced in the original Continental GT in 2003.

Essentially, the engine is a combination of two narrow-angle V6 engines sharing a common crankshaft, making it 24% shorter than a conventional V12 engine.

With new intake, exhaust, turbocharging and intercooling systems developed in-house by Bentley’s engineers, the engine developed 552 hp and 649 Nm of torque in its early days.

Thanks to continuous improvements, including the use of twin-scroll turbocharging in 2015, the iconic engine is now capable of delivering 740 hp and 1,000 Nm, as seen in the Batur.

As a toast to the engine for one last time, Bentley offered 120 units of the “Speed Edition 12” models for Bentayga, Continental GT, Continental GT Convertible and Flying Spur.

Unique features include Edition 12 badging, treadplates, seat embroidery, fascia inlays, and numbered engine plaque. Owners also received a commemorative scale model of the W12 engine block.

The decision to end W12 engine production is in line with Bentley’s Beyond100 strategy, which focuses on sustainability.

Taking over the baton is the new Ultra High Performance Hybrid powertrain, which combines a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine and an electric motor sandwiched between the mill and transmission.

The new engine has a total power output of 771 hp (782 PS) and 1,000 Nm, and will make its debut in the 2025 Continental GT Speed.
